6. Clean Up the Computer Disk

Cleaning up the computer disk is an easy way to improve your overall computer performance. To run the well-established application, enter the program title, “Disk Cleanup” in the search text field located near the Windows Start menu. Once the application loads, run the program to located orphaned and junk files. Once cleaning up files is complete, run the disk defragmentation utility. Note, for larger and older computers this program can take several hours to successfully run, so do not start when you need to use the computer for work or school. When complete, older computers will have a noticeable improvement in performance while newer computers will have less noticeable gains.
