Geek is defined as either “A Digital-technology expert or enthusiast” or “A person who has excessive enthusiasm for and some expertise about a specialized subject or activity.” As you can see, both terms are fairly similar and shed a light on the strong interests each stereotype encompasses. Judging by the definitions alone, the main difference between the two are that nerds are less likely to be social.

    In conclusion, though nerds and geeks tend to be grouped together, there are many differences between the two. Because of their hobbies, interests, social skills, typical future jobs, and other topic, they are used to depict and describe rather different individuals.
