6. LED Lights
These have grown in popularity and for good reason. For starters, they offer a great lighting alternative that uses a lot less energy than traditional incandescent lights and their successors, CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lights). LED lights are also a whole lot better for the environment because they don’t have any mercury, which was a concern with CFLs. In addition, they put out very little CO2. Because of their popularity, LED lights are becoming widely available. You can find them in flashlights, lanterns and of course, bulbs for around the house. They last a long time and so save you even more—the frequency with which you have to change them is extremely low.
